Straight about what this is

What you get

  • A direct line to the person who fixes the problem
  • One flat monthly invoice, agreed before the work starts
  • Monitoring that catches failures before your staff notice them
  • Backups that are restored on a schedule, not just written
  • Plain-language documentation of everything you run

What you do not get

  • An account manager between you and the engineer
  • Hourly billing that makes you hesitate before calling
  • A three-year contract with an exit penalty
  • Proprietary tooling your next provider cannot read
  • A 24/7 promise from a company this size — same business day, and immediately when work has stopped

What managed IT covers

Everything below is in the monthly rate. Projects outside it are quoted before anything begins.

Monitoring
Servers, workstations, network gear and backup jobs watched continuously. Disks, certificates and services heading for failure get dealt with before they take anyone offline.
Helpdesk
Unmetered support for your staff by phone, email or chat. Password resets to a printer nobody can reach — same rate either way.
Patching
Operating systems and business software kept current on a tested schedule, outside working hours, so updates are not a Monday morning surprise.
Backups
Encrypted off-site backups with version history and point-in-time restores. Restores are tested. An untested backup is a guess.
Security
Endpoint protection, email authentication (SPF, DKIM and DMARC so nobody can invoice your clients in your name), access review and offboarding.
Vendor wrangling
We deal with your ISP, your line-of-business software vendor and your printer contract so your staff do not have to sit on hold.

Check the work before you call

Most IT providers ask you to take competence on trust. Ours is published.

The same stack

All of it runs on the infrastructure we manage for customers. If it were fragile, it would be visibly broken.

How starting works

Four steps, and you can stop after the second at no cost.

A short call

Twenty minutes on what you run, what breaks, and what it costs you when it does.

A written assessment

What you have, what is at risk, and what we would change — in plain language, yours to keep whether or not you hire us.

A flat quote

One monthly number, scoped to your actual environment. No onboarding fee.

Onboarding

Monitoring and backups first, because those protect you immediately. Documentation follows within the first month.

Where we work

Desert Forge IT is based in Scottsdale and works on site across the east and central Valley — Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Fountain Hills and central Phoenix. Remote support covers anywhere in Arizona. If you are outside that area and the work is mostly remote, ask anyway.

Questions people ask first

Do you actually come on site in Scottsdale?

Yes. Most issues get solved remotely within minutes, but Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Tempe and central Phoenix are a short drive, so anything physical - a failed switch, a new workstation build, a server move - gets handled in person at no extra call-out charge inside that radius.

How is this different from the larger MSPs in town?

Two ways that matter day to day. You talk to the engineer who does the work rather than an account manager and a ticket queue, and the monthly price is flat - support hours are not metered, so calling for help never costs you extra.

What does it cost?

Pricing is per-user or per-device on a flat monthly rate, quoted after a short call about what you actually run. No onboarding fee, no multi-year lock-in, and the quote is the price. If a project falls outside the monthly scope it is quoted separately before any work starts.

Are we locked into your tooling?

No. Everything runs on standard, open infrastructure, and your data and configuration are yours to take with you. If you leave, you get working documentation and exports rather than a proprietary system you cannot read.

Do you handle backups, or is that separate?

Included. Encrypted off-site backups with version history and point-in-time restores, and restores are tested rather than assumed. An untested backup is a guess, not a backup.

How quickly do you respond?

Same business day for standard requests, and immediately for anything that has stopped people working. You get a direct line, not a portal.
