UUID Generator

Generate cryptographically random v1, v4, and v7 UUIDs — one at a time or up to 100 at once.

UUID Versions

  • v1 — Time-based, derived from current timestamp and a node identifier. Sortable by time but leaks creation time and MAC address (we use a random node ID).
  • v4 — Fully random (122 bits of entropy). The most common and safest default for general use.
  • v7 — Time-ordered random, with a Unix millisecond timestamp prefix followed by random bits. Excellent for database keys because it sorts naturally.

How to use

Choose the UUID version you want and click Generate to produce a single ID, or set a count and click Generate List to produce many at once. Click Copy beside any UUID to copy it to your clipboard, or Copy All to grab the entire list. v4 is the safest default; pick v7 when you need time-ordered IDs for a database. All UUIDs are generated locally with crypto.getRandomValues.
